Works Road is a busy group of larger national companies, medium sized local companies and trading estates full of small business units filling both sides of the road for much of its length. The area is constantly being redeveloped to meet the changing requirements of existing and new tennants About half way along the road on the left is Avenue One. Beyond this another junction leads to Green Lane a residential street.  Off Green Lane you find the industrial and residential mix of the Eastern end of the Letchworth section of the Icknield Way to your left, and slightly further along on the right, Blackhorse Lane another industrial area.  Works road continues east from the junction with Green Lane with more businesses on both sides, with the large industrial park, and retail area at Jubilee Road branching to the right.
