Gernon Road runs along the back of the Letchworth Shopping Center from the town square to Norton Way South

From the square on the left are: The Broadway Cinema , and at the Back of Letchworth's Garden Square  Shopping Centre,  A pub, formerly The Black Squirrel public house and a Chinese Restaurant, public and commercial access to the shopping center and beyond this an office block occupied by North Herts District Council. The side road leads to the multi storey car park and rear access to the shops on the South side of Leys Avenue. Finally on the left is the car park and hall for the Free Church.

The road ends at Norton Way South opposite the Bowling Green.

On the other side of the road are the Town Lodge formerly used as a school and later as council offices and a variety of housing some of which were part of the second Letchworth Cottage Exhibition of 1907, the main site of which was Lytton Avenue.
