Founded in 1906, Letchworth Garden City Band has taken part in local community life since the town's earliest days. |

Besides enabling amateur brass players to make music together, the Band brings enjoyment to audiences at local events of many kinds, including festivals, garden parties, official functions and fund-raising concerts. joint performances with the band of Wissen, | Letchworth's
twin town in Germany, have been a feature of several exchange visits in
recent years.
The Band is funded mainly by its membership fees and by its public performances. |

| Who plays in
the Band?
The Band has male and female players from secondary school age upwards. There is a core of experienced players, and we welcome newcomers. |

| What we play
Our repertoire is wide, running from I6th-century Tudor dances, through later classical pieces, traditional marches, ragtime, jazz and pop, to arrangements of contemporary film and TV themes. |

When and where
we play
The Band practices on Wednesday evenings (7.30 to 9.45pm) throughout the year at the Brotherhood Hall in the centre of Letchworth (opposite the Broadway Cinema and next to the Library). |
Concerts and other engagements take
place mainly at weekends and public holidays.
